Allegra was born and raised in Miami Beach surrounded by all forms of religious, cultural, and spiritual practices. She moved to New York City and received a double-major in dance and journalism from NYU. While living there, Allegra received her first 200 hour teacher training, and later a supplementary training in Katonah Yoga.
Upon moving back to Miami, she received her kids yoga certification and she started The Jellyfish Jam, a guided dance party designed to get people vigorously in their bodies and tapped into their creativity and joy.
Allegra’s class redefines slow and steady. She combines the structure and boundary of precise alignment to develop awareness and prevent injury, with deep shamanic meditation, delicious music, and dance-inspired flow. Her classes take you to the depths of the oceans, the heights of outer space, and back into the moment to apply all that insight towards the daily greater good of all beings.
When she is not teaching movement and meditation, Allegra works as a freelance artist creating poetry and dance-based performance art. Allegra is also the creator of The Observation Deck, a unique set of cards to inspire clarity, contemplation, conversation, and meditation. The Observation Deck is on sale at Ahana Yoga.
